    Getting Back Into It

I know, I know it’s been a while. Well, I received a message from a friend a little while ago telling me that I had helped them. They told me to get back to writing my “Tankisms.”

Admittedly, I had gotten a little down on the whole web friend interaction thing. I would read people’s posts, status, etc. and many times come away shaking my head at some of the gossip, quick opinions, threats, etc.

I like to think of myself as an optimist and those are the types of things that you can find yourself dwelling on; I did not want to dwell on those things. So, I left…then I read her post.

I have this website and I think I need to start using it. People come here and are probably disappointed to see that I haven’t been updating the content. I could almost take it upon myself to say that I have been letting some of you down by now keeping this fresh.

Well, it’s Friday and I am going to do my absolute best to begin again. Everyone gets another chance, right? Give me a mulligan. 🙂 I am going to have to do my speaking from here since I know the other outlets will not change.

I must keep a clear head and stay focused. Maybe I’ll vent sometimes. Maybe I’ll post a beautiful picture. Maybe I’ll write a word of encouragement. Maybe… we’ll see. But, most importantly, maybe I will actually stay in touch this time. Have a great weekend all.

    A Lil Reminder…

I was reminded this weekend, the right attitude in any situation is EVERYTHING. Whatever attitude we express most often in any situation, the more situations we are given to express that attitude in.

So, if you’re happy, excited, loved and blessed most of the time, more situations will be given to you to express those emotions.

But if you are sad, frustrated, angry and defeated all the time…

It was a great reminder for me. Maybe it’ll help someone you know. Have a wonderful 2nd quarter! 🙂

Allow Me To Introduce Myself, My Name Is…

My name is GOD. G to the O-D,
Even now some of y’all wanna envy.
I guess when it all begin, you could call me,
    CEO of the H-E-V oh!

My word says, That if you “got,” I give mo’ things,
But if you don’t, then “he” take away everything.

Now, some of y’all continue to misquote me,
And, quite frankly that is getting kinda tiring.
To live ya life, I’m the one to be admiring,
Time is short, never know when you’re expiring.

Let me explain, for the failure mentalities,
No confidence having, hating heart monstrosities…

No self-control, frustrated with ya life, G?
“He” gon’ keep giving this to you until you turn to me!

If you’re successful, confident, in control,
Pocket swole from the over-sized bankroll.
I can multiply that about a hundred fold,
And give you mo’ and mo’ until the cup overflow.

So, don’t doubt me, mustard seed faith be,
What you need and after that come the blessings.
I know you tend to think I like to keep you guessing,
My love is real, and of that, there’s no questioning…

    GOD

    Re-Awakening

“Don’t be afraid of a little opposition. Remember that the ‘Kite’ of success generally rises AGAINST the wind of Adversity – not with it!” – Unknown

I have believed many things in life. One thing that is true beyond any argument: Life is change. And since life is change and we live life, we live “change.” Marinate on that one for a minute…

People don’t like change, they like stability. I argue that you cannot have one without the other. To fight change is to fight life. People don’t like change because it is unknown and the unknown can be scary.

The easiest way to deal with change is to learn to adapt and to adapt is to be flexible. In exercise, flexibility is a sign of health. So, since the mind-body connection has been proven wouldn’t it make sense to be flexible of mind? That should bring about good mental health shouldn’t it? It should.

So, life is change. To fight change is to fight life. Live life instead. See the change, be flexible (healthy) and adapt. Have a great week.

    I’m a FAILURE…

“Every failure is a blessing in disguise, providing it teaches some needed lesson one could not have learned without it. Most so-called Failures are only temporary defeats.” – Napoleon Hill

Happy Tuesday 🙂 I’m getting back in the blog groove. Got my schedule in front of me and I won’t let you all down. Thanks for reading, thanks for the birthday wishes and thank you just for the sake of thanks. 🙂

    THE DEFINITION OF SUCCESS

I am tired! OK, I know the title said, The Definition of Success but I am tired! I just got home. I had to go get some more food for my diet, I have ice on my left knee, watching a repeat episode of CSI: Miami while trying to avoid taking a nap; I’m tired and sore.

I started a new workout and it’s only day 2. I’m in really good shape if I do say so myself. But, I did spend the last 2,3 weeks getting out of shape so I could try a new program and see how it works. If it works, I will recommend it to you all.

I haven’t blogged for a week because I’ve also been mentally drained. Having 2009 end the way that it did, with great bookings, I hoped that it would continue right away into the new year. So far, 2010 has been slow moving.

I know that things will begin to pick up soon. I have had a couple close calls already but the dice haven’t rolled my way quite yet. They will.

That brings me to my Success Definition. Actually, it’s Napoleon Hill’s definition but it works for me:

SUCCESS: very largely a matter of adjusting one’s self to the ever-varying and changing environments of life, in a spirit of harmony and poise.

That’s quite a definition. How many of us match up? 🙂

    BUILT LIKE A TANK WEDNESDAYS

Today’s blog will be rather short and to the point as I am not feeling the best. I took a new supplement (new to me) last night that is supposed to help sleep and enhance fat metabolism. I go to the same vitamin store to get my protein, daily vitamins and anything else I might get from time to time.

The gentleman in the store is very nice and informed. He told me that the product would be a good answer to some of the questions that I had been asking him. Longer story short, do your own research and don’t just take the advice of others. That includes advice you may get from me.

True, I work out 5-6 times a week and recommend some things that have worked and are still working for me, things might be different for you.

The product is supposed to be amazing, but the recommendation is to take half a dose of it before the whole. I wish I had read that before I took it last night. Feel very drowsy and lethargic. Yet, after calling the company and reading pages upon pages of reviews on the product this morning, I’m confident that if I cut the dosage down, the results will be much better tomorrow. I will let you know. I wasn’t able to go to the gym today or anywhere else as I am not comfortable even driving. Will keep you posted. Have a great upcoming weekend, write out those goals, review them and begin to take action to make them happen. — Tank

    TANKISM TUESDAYS

OK, the Tankism was yesterday so I have a quote for ya today. Just got back from the gym and had a great conversation with a new friend. It’s amazing what you learn when you’re not afraid to open your mouth up and talk to someone. We’re all people and our relationships are what define us. Just something to think about… Now, here’s the quote:

“Who said it could not be done? And what great victories has he to his credit which qualify him to judge others accurately?” – Napoleon Hill

Now, go get yours, naysayers beware of a person who has themselves together and have made up their minds to succeed at all costs 🙂 OK, so I had to throw a Tankism in there anyway!

    MOTIVATIONAL MONDAYS

Good morning, afternoon, evening all my fine feathered friends (yes, I like that expression). I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I spent most of my weekend watching football. My cousin and I developed this “texting war” when the games come on. He’s in South Carolina so instead of calling each other after every play, we text things like “In da Face!” and “Boo-yah!” and “Wait for it…” lol. Last week I got him good when the Cardinals beat the Packers and he got me when the Saints got the Cards this past weekend.

I have to say, one of the best if not unexpected games of the weekend was the Jets vs the Chargers. I know some of you may not be football fans, but those of you that are, most of you were shocked by the outcome I’m sure…unless you were the Jets or their coach.

This man, the Jets head coach told everyone that they should be the favorite going into the playoffs to win the whole thing. Do you know how many people laughed at him. Do you know how many analysts called him crazy and out of his mind? Do you know how many so called experts said they would be out of the playoffs in the first game they played?

I mean after all, they only made the playoffs because one of the elite teams let them win at the end of the season and so they squeaked into the playoffs on what many called a technicality. So, since you’re not supposed to be there go ahead and lose so we can be right and get on the air and tell everyone how right we were about how deserving you were “not” of being there. Anybody see where I’m going with this?

The coach believed that his team could win it all. He didn’t keep it to himself. He let his team know, “We will win it all.” He is said to have made a schedule for his team all the way up to their Super Bowl parade. What? How dare you have the audacity, little rookie coach with the inexperienced rookie quarterback to even think you have a chance at the crown. You will be one and done, don’t you know that?

The coach did not buy into that. Even though EVERYBODY was telling him how unworthy he and his team was, he did NOT but into that. He got himself to believe, he got his team to believe. Lo and behold, they are in the championship game.

At this point, it does not actually matter if they even go to the Super Bowl. They have already exceeded expectations. They have already won, and so can you.

This is week three of 2010 and this is right about the time where people start to forget about their resolutions. Life keeps happening and they are just taking things as they come. They never wrote down their resolutions. Some may have written them down but they don’t look at them everyday so “out of sight, out of mind.” The media is quick to tell you how many people never follow through on their resolutions. I implore you, don’t let that be you.

If you have not written down your goals, WRITE THEM DOWN. If you have written them down but have not looked at them in a while, LOOK AT THEM. If you have not acted on what you set out to do because life got in the way, PRIORITIZE YOUR GOALS. UKANduit! If someone has done, so can you. It’s just a matter of imaginary time. Live each day as if you are already in possession of that which you desire. Feel the emotion each day as you would if you were the person with the things, characteristics and attributes you SEE yourself as. One day at a time, one bite at a time. I believe in you, now it’s your turn to believe in yourself, against all odds, all obstacles and naysayers. UKANduit!

OK, I guess this was more like a Tankism so I will post the saying tomorrow of one of my favorite authors. Take care and I hope you have a wonderful week of accomplishment. 🙂
